Abstract
The properly renormalized Z{sup 0} rest mass is shown to be gauge invariant in the rigorous, complete on-shell renormalization scheme. Thus, the mass measured at LEP/SLC is indeed a physical observable and can be used as a basic parameter of the SU{sub 2L}xU{sub 1} theory, as indeed it has so been. (author). 8 refs.
