Mixing phases of unstable two-level systems

Abstract

An unstable two-level system decaying into an arbitrary number of channels is considered. It is shown that the mixing phases of the two overlapping resonances can be expressed in the terms of their partial widths and one additional universal mixing parameter. Some applications to a doublet of 2{sup +} resonances in {sup 8}Be and to the {rho}-{omega} systems are considered. 18 refs.
