Abstract
Einstein`s length measuring procedure of a rod moving with velocity {upsilon} (0 {<=} |{upsilon}| < c) is discussed. The part of this procedure, namely measuring the length of the resting ({upsilon} = 0) rod, is realizable and leads to the elongation of the moving rod. The other part of Einstein`s procedure, measuring the length of the moving ({upsilon} {ne} 0) rod, is not realizable and leads to the contraction of the moving rod. As the result of this procedure the moving rod contraction concept is supposed physically unfounded. (author). 8 refs; 1 fig.
