Abstract
The influences of equilibrium time, temperature, pH value, extractant concentration and feed concentration on the distribution of Am{sup 3+} and rare earth elements have been studied in the extraction with {beta}-oxime extractant 7804. It was found that the optimum extraction equilibrium time is 30 min; temperature is 20 +- 1 degree C; extractant concentration is 0.2 mol/L and the pH is from 4.8 to 5.1. Under these experimental conditions, 7804 forms 2:1 complex with Am{sup 3+} or rare earth elements. The extractability sequence shows is Am>Eu>Sm>Nd>Pr>Ce>La.
