Abstract

The construction of magnetic coil system for a 35 GHz gyrotron is reported in great detail. This system is designed to generate a magnetic induction of 13,2 kG over an extension of 13 cm. By using an operating current of about 100 A, it was verified that both the axial magnetic field profile and the spatial non-uniformity are in close agreement with those theoretically predicted.
