Abstract

To make petroleum consumption in Malaysia efficient, exchanges of local engineers were made for the purpose of cooperating with an effective spread of energy conservation and environmental technologies in Japan. The conference was held with the presence of members of the Japanese engineers exchange group and representatives of energy related sections of the Malaysian government and major enterprises. Malaysia is high in annual economic growth rate, 7-8 %, and has an interest in energy conservation and environment. The problem of electric power shortage becomes conspicuous, and attainment of energy conservation of 20% for 2020 is targeted as a national plan. However, the industrial circle is not so much conscious of energy conservation, and therefore, improvement of equipment and energy conservation which cost much are not expected. The government aims at a high-level economy growth for national prospect, and puts off their tackling with the energy conservation and environmental problems pertaining to the economical development. Leaving introduction of energy saving type high efficiency equipment in the hands of users, the government considers no special financial assistance or interest supply. It takes time to really spread energy conservation and environmental technologies, and training of engineers and establishment of the energy conservation center  More>>
