Study of the effects of pressure and vapour incorporation ratio on the performances of a pelleting machine

Abstract

Vapour, in pelleting machine, is used to enhance granulate cohesiveness and machine productivity, reduce power consumption, limit bacteriological activity and reduce the machine wear. In order to optimize the processing costs, vapour feeding have to be specially designed: vapour incorporation mode (distribution line), vapour quantity and vapour pressure. The influences of these factors on the machine performance are described, for various animal foods.
