Abstract
It is shown that cosmology, experiments and unitarity considerations limit the mass and coupling g` of a generic, heavy WIMP from the above as well as from the below. There are absolute lower limits of 4x10{sup -5}g and 6x10{sup -5}g for the couplings of Diracn and Majorana WIMPs, respectively. In U(1)` models cosmology implies an upper limit of about 1 TeV on the Z` and on the WIMP masses, but only in the absence of Z-Z` mixing. (orig.).
