Sarpsfossen cascades in Trondheim; Sarpsfossen fosser frem i Trondheim

Abstract

In Water Resources Laboratory at NTNU in Trondheim, Borregaard and Hafslund have got a model of Sarpsfossen built to study conditions at flood, and to test the effects of various measures to increase power production. The project has given the companies a lot of information about the river in the area. The experiments show that it is the river's cross section at road and rail bridge that determines how much water can be diverted in a flood situation in Sarpsfossen. (AG)
