Abstract
Upgrading / extension / construction of new hydropower plants (u/e/c) has been under consideration for several years in power companies, NVE, including politicians, etc. Several u/e/c- projects are also implemented, but there is a large potential that can be realized. The process from idea to finished construction is long and requires good planning. There are many involved entities and communities to be heard. 10 years from idea to finished plants are not uncommon. Therefore it is important to get the systematically process started - now. (AG)
