Abstract
A $400 million gas pipeline from the Carnarvon Basin in the north west of Western Australia to Kalgoorlie in the south will be constructed by the Australian Gas Light Company. The decision to build the pipeline was made as a result of new gas field discoveries west of Barrow Island, and the need to supply low cost power to the Kalgoorlie and Eastern Goldfields region. Commencement of construction is expected soon with completion scheduled in mid-1996. photo.
