Pulse radiolysis studies of chlorinated fullerene

Abstract

Pulse radiolytic studies of hexachloro C{sub 60} (C{sub 60} Cl{sub 6}) were carried out in benzene and 1,2-dichloroethane. The spectra of the transients produced were determined in 300-700 nm region. Triplets and cations of C{sub 60} Cl{sub 6} were produced in benzene and 1,2-dichloroethane respectively. For the triplets of C{sub 60} Cl{sub 6} generated in benzene, life-time, reactivity with oxygen and energy transfer rate constant were determined. (author). 1 ref., 2 figs.
