The absorption maximum is at 635 nm and the molar absorptivity is 8.3 x 10/sup 4/1. mole /sup -1/ cm/sup -1/. A preliminary separation of uranium by extraction with methyl isobutyl ketone from acid-deficient aluminium nitrate solution is used to avoid interferences. An aliquot of the extract in then diluted with chlorobenzene and shaken with benzoate buffer containing Malachite Green (MG). The method has been applied for the determination of uranium in a synthetic leach solution. The complex extracted is probably (U0/sub 2/(C/sub 6/H/sub 5/C00/sub 3//sup -/)(MG/sup +/). %0Journal Article %N;Journal ID: CODEN: TLNTA %1 %CUnited Kingdom %Rhttps://doi.org/10.1016/0039-9140(77)80149-5 Journal ID: CODEN: TLNTA INIS %GEnglish
