<dc:description>The Loveridge Coarse Coal Slurry Transport System is a fully integrated materials handling system designed to meet two goals. First, it demonstrates coarse coal slurry feasibility and economics in a commercial sized haulage system and second, it increases the main line coal haulage capacity at an expanding mine. The 7 North area of the mine was scheduled to be developed and mined by longwall methods concurrently with the construction and operation of the slurry haulage system. All major functional systems were piloted prior to the commitment for Loveridge Mine expansion. Today the slurry system operates three shifts per day, five days per week and transports about 100,000 raw tons per month from inside the mine to the surface and overland to the preparation plant in the next valley.</dc:description>
