<dc:description>This paper presents an attempt at optimization for the ''designing tasks'' of gas fields feeding main lines with given flows and working pressures. Thus, it is possible to estimate the characteristics of fields and average behavior of wells, the drilling and well construction difficulties and the number of productive days. Rational development of gas fields represents an optimizing process. During the first stage, it is necessary to optimize the development at the level of the extractive industry as a whole (the relation between reserves and production) for establishing the ''designing tasks'' for the development objectives by geological regions, deposits and horizon groups, etc.</dc:description>
