Reference data is used for urban research and studies of the long range transport of air pollutants and their effects. Concentration and deposition data from background stations is presented. The data is based on one national and two international measurement programs. Sulfur compounds were emphasized but the deposition and suspended particulates were studied for other components as well. The sampling time was one day in long range transport research and a week or a month in the other programs.
