The 343-rooms/46-suites Kempinski-style near-terminal grand hotel on the premises of Munich airport adds another international meeting point attraction to this international, cosmopolitan airport in the south of Germany. In a most remarkable way Helmut Jahn, the Chicago architect who built the famous 256 m Frankfurt Messeturm succeeded in integrating his light-flooded steel-glass-concrete work of art harmoniously into the overall airport structure and in emphasizing trend-setting hotel features. Mit der Eroeffnung des 343-Zimmer- und 46-Suitegrandhotels made Kempinski auf dem Muenchner Flughafengelaende, unmittelbar neben dem Terminal, ist das Drehkreuz des Suedens um eine internationale Treffpunktattraktion reicher. Dem vom 256 m hohen Frankfurter Messeturm her bekannten Architekten Helmut Jahn aus Chicago ist es in bemerkenswerter Weise gelungen, sein lichtdurchflutetes Designer-Kunstwerk aus Stahl, Beton und Glas sowohl harmonisch in die bauliche Gesamtkonzeption des Flughafens zu integrieren, als auch zukunftweisende Akzente im Bereich des Airport-Hotels zu setzen.
