In the last ten years it has been utilized for the design of new processes as well as in the energy optimization of existing processes. In this paper the tools utilized for the integration of a cogeneration system in a process for the production of paper is presented. It is also presented how the combined treatment of the Pinch Analysis and the exergy concept allows to define, before the detailed design, the cogeneration potential, the fuel consumption and the amount of pollutant emissions for different cogeneration schemes. %0Miscellaneous %NCONF-9709273-;Other: ON: DE99717743; TRN: MX9800010 %1 %CMexico %Rhttps://doi.org/ Other: ON: DE99717743; TRN: MX9800010 MX %GSpanish
