Title: CALUTRON

Abstract

A calutron target arrangement is described which follows the shifting focus of the beam. Four magnets attached to the face of the receiver are arranged so that they are in magnetic equilibrium when the beam focus is properly aligned. Twisting of the beam causes heating of some of the magnets disturbing the equilibrium by permeability changes. The magnets restore equilibrium by moving the receiver face to proper alignment.
