OSTI has updated information across DOE CODE to highlight the DOE CODE GitLab repository service, a resource for developers when they need controlled access to code (e.g., not open source or not yet public) and for collaboration between developers from multiple labs or institutions.

GitLab is a software repository and version control system used to develop software and track versions. The DOE-hosted GitLab repository is a free service provided to the DOE community to support development and cooperation among researchers and foster scientific progress. DOE-funded developers can use this dedicated space for creation or import of their own open and closed source projects and repositories. After establishing an account through the service, users can create projects and add other account holders as collaborators.

The DOE CODE GitLab repository service is separate from the submission and announcement of records to DOE CODE. DOE national laboratories, DOE facilities, and DOE contractors who have developed and/or modified software during work supported by DOE should continue to announce software to DOE using DOE CODE.

If you are interested in using the DOE CODE GitLab repository service, please complete the DOE CODE Repository Service Access Request. If you have questions, please contact doecoderepositories@osti.gov.
