Title: Measurements of underlying-event properties using neutral and charged particles in p p collisions at 900 GeV and 7 TeV with the ATLAS detector at the LHC

Abstract

CERN-LHC. Measurement of charged and neutral particle distributions in proton-proton collisions at centre-of-mass energies of 0.9 and 7 TeV. The data have been collected using a minimum-bias trigger during 6-15 December 2009 (0.9 TeV) and March 30-April 27 2010 (7 TeV). The analysis uses topological clusters with transverse momentum > 0.5 GeV and |pseudorapidity| < 2.5 to be comparible witgh previous Underlying Event data using charged tracks. Particle densities are presented as a function of Delta(phi), the difference in azimuthal angle between the leading cluster and the mean of all the other clusters in the event. Data on average number of partices and summed pT as a function of the leading cluster pT are also given. Numerical values suppled by Jinlong Zhang.
