Title: Materials Data on Dy3Y by Materials Project

Abstract

Dy3Y is Magnesium-derived structured and crystallizes in the hexagonal P6_3/mmc space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Dy is bonded to eight equivalent Dy and four equivalent Y atoms to form DyDy8Y4 cuboctahedra that share corners with four equivalent YDy12 cuboctahedra, corners with fourteen equivalent DyDy8Y4 cuboctahedra, edges with six equivalent YDy12 cuboctahedra, edges with twelve equivalent DyDy8Y4 cuboctahedra, faces with four equivalent YDy12 cuboctahedra, and faces with sixteen equivalent DyDy8Y4 cuboctahedra. There are a spread of Dy–Dy bond distances ranging from 3.53–3.63 Å. There are two shorter (3.53 Å) and two longer (3.62 Å) Dy–Y bond lengths. Y is bonded to twelve equivalent Dy atoms to form YDy12 cuboctahedra that share corners with six equivalent YDy12 cuboctahedra, corners with twelve equivalent DyDy8Y4 cuboctahedra, edges with eighteen equivalent DyDy8Y4 cuboctahedra, faces with eight equivalent YDy12 cuboctahedra, and faces with twelve equivalent DyDy8Y4 cuboctahedra.
