Title: Materials Data on Cr2C by Materials Project

Abstract

Cr2C is trigonal omega structured and crystallizes in the trigonal P-3m1 space group. The structure is two-dimensional and consists of one Cr2C sheet oriented in the (0, 0, 1) direction. Cr2+ is bonded in a distorted T-shaped geometry to three equivalent C4- atoms. All Cr–C bond lengths are 1.96 Å. C4- is bonded to six equivalent Cr2+ atoms to form edge-sharing CCr6 octahedra.
