Materials Data on Bi3P by Materials Project
Abstract
Bi3P crystallizes in the hexagonal P6_3/mmc space group. The structure is one-dimensional and consists of two Bi3P ribbons oriented in the (0, 0, 1) direction. Bi1+ is bonded in a water-like geometry to two equivalent P3- atoms. Both Bi–P bond lengths are 3.21 Å. P3- is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to six equivalent Bi1+ atoms.
