Title: Materials Data on O2 by Materials Project

Abstract

O2 crystallizes in the monoclinic C2/c space group. The structure is one-dimensional and consists of two O2 ribbons oriented in the (0, 0, 1) direction. there are two inequivalent O sites. In the first O site, O is bonded in a bent 120 degrees geometry to two O atoms. There is one shorter (1.22 Å) and one longer (1.83 Å) O–O bond length. In the second O site, O is bonded in a T-shaped geometry to three O atoms. Both O–O bond lengths are 1.73 Å.
