Abstract

Y2PtZn crystallizes in the orthorhombic Immm space group. The structure is one-dimensional and consists of two Y2PtZn ribbons oriented in the (1, 0, 0) direction. Y is bonded in a linear geometry to one Pt and one Zn atom. The Y–Pt bond length is 2.51 Å. The Y–Zn bond length is 3.11 Å. Pt is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent Y atoms. Zn is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent Y atoms.
