Title: Materials Data on K by Materials Project

Abstract

K is alpha Samarium structured and crystallizes in the trigonal R-3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are five inequivalent K sites. In the first K site, K is bonded to twelve K atoms to form a mixture of distorted face, edge, and corner-sharing KK12 cuboctahedra. There are six shorter (4.63 Å) and six longer (4.79 Å) K–K bond lengths. In the second K site, K is bonded to twelve K atoms to form a mixture of distorted face, edge, and corner-sharing KK12 cuboctahedra. There are three shorter (4.64 Å) and six longer (4.79 Å) K–K bond lengths. In the third K site, K is bonded to twelve K atoms to form a mixture of distorted face, edge, and corner-sharing KK12 cuboctahedra. There are six shorter (4.63 Å) and six longer (4.79 Å) K–K bond lengths. In the fourth K site, K is bonded to twelve K atoms to form a mixture of distorted face, edge, and corner-sharing KK12 cuboctahedra. There are three shorter (4.64 Å) and six longer (4.79 Å) K–K bond lengths. In the fifth K site, K is bonded to sixteen K atoms to form a mixture of distorted face, edge, and corner-sharing KK16 cuboctahedra. Theremore » are a spread of K–K bond distances ranging from 4.79–9.58 Å.« less
