Materials Data on CdTe by Materials Project
Abstract
CdTe is Halite, Rock Salt-like structured and crystallizes in the orthorhombic Cmcm space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Cd2+ is bonded to six equivalent Te2- atoms to form a mixture of edge and corner-sharing CdTe6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 0–10°. There are a spread of Cd–Te bond distances ranging from 3.03–3.16 Å. Te2- is bonded to six equivalent Cd2+ atoms to form a mixture of edge and corner-sharing TeCd6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 0–10°.
