Title: Materials Data on Mg2Ni by Materials Project

Abstract

Mg2Ni is Khatyrkite structured and crystallizes in the monoclinic C2/m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are two inequivalent Mg sites. In the first Mg site, Mg is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Ni atoms. There are two shorter (2.64 Å) and two longer (2.65 Å) Mg–Ni bond lengths. In the second Mg site, Mg is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Ni atoms. There are two shorter (2.64 Å) and two longer (2.66 Å) Mg–Ni bond lengths. Ni is bonded in a 10-coordinate geometry to eight Mg atoms.
