Materials Data on CaC2 by Materials Project
Abstract
CaC2 is Cyanogen Chloride-derived structured and crystallizes in the monoclinic C2/m space group. The structure is zero-dimensional and consists of two calcium, dimethyl- molecules. Ca2+ is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent C1- atoms. Both Ca–C bond lengths are 2.24 Å. C1- is bonded in a single-bond geometry to one Ca2+ atom.
