Title: Materials Data on ScTe3 by Materials Project

Abstract

ScTe3 crystallizes in the hexagonal P6_3/mmc space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Sc3+ is bonded to twelve equivalent Te1- atoms to form a mixture of distorted corner and face-sharing ScTe12 cuboctahedra. There are six shorter (3.15 Å) and six longer (3.58 Å) Sc–Te bond lengths. Te1- is bonded in a 2-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Sc3+ atoms.
