Title: Materials Data on CeSmFe4 by Materials Project

Abstract

SmCeFe4 is Cubic Laves-derived structured and crystallizes in the cubic F-43m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Sm is bonded in a 12-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Ce and twelve equivalent Fe atoms. All Sm–Ce bond lengths are 3.11 Å. All Sm–Fe bond lengths are 2.98 Å. Ce is bonded in a 12-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Sm and twelve equivalent Fe atoms. All Ce–Fe bond lengths are 2.98 Å. Fe is bonded to three equivalent Sm, three equivalent Ce, and six equivalent Fe atoms to form a mixture of edge, face, and corner-sharing FeCe3Sm3Fe6 cuboctahedra. There are three shorter (2.53 Å) and three longer (2.55 Å) Fe–Fe bond lengths.
