Abstract

Lu(PO)2 crystallizes in the tetragonal I4_1/amd space group. The structure is zero-dimensional and consists of eight Lu(PO)2 clusters. Lu3+ is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent O2- atoms. Both Lu–O bond lengths are 2.10 Å. P+0.50+ is bonded in a single-bond geometry to one O2- atom. The P–O bond length is 1.58 Å. O2- is bonded in a linear geometry to one Lu3+ and one P+0.50+ atom.
