Title: Materials Data on Mg3Sn by Materials Project

Abstract

Mg3Sn crystallizes in the orthorhombic Imm2 space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are two inequivalent Mg sites. In the first Mg site, Mg is bonded in a 12-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Sn atoms. There are two shorter (3.16 Å) and two longer (3.19 Å) Mg–Sn bond lengths. In the second Mg site, Mg is bonded in a 12-coordinate geometry to three equivalent Sn atoms. There are one shorter (3.13 Å) and two longer (3.21 Å) Mg–Sn bond lengths. Sn is bonded in a 10-coordinate geometry to ten Mg atoms.
