Materials Data on HgAs by Materials Project
Abstract
AsHg is Halite, Rock Salt structured and crystallizes in the trigonal R3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Hg2+ is bonded to six equivalent As2- atoms to form a mixture of edge and corner-sharing HgAs6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedral tilt angles are 0°. There are three shorter (2.84 Å) and three longer (2.85 Å) Hg–As bond lengths. As2- is bonded to six equivalent Hg2+ atoms to form a mixture of edge and corner-sharing AsHg6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedral tilt angles are 0°.
