Materials Data on KLa3 by Materials Project
Abstract
KLa3 is Uranium Silicide structured and crystallizes in the cubic Pm-3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. K is bonded to twelve equivalent La atoms to form KLa12 cuboctahedra that share corners with twelve equivalent KLa12 cuboctahedra, edges with twenty-four equivalent LaK4La8 cuboctahedra, faces with six equivalent KLa12 cuboctahedra, and faces with twelve equivalent LaK4La8 cuboctahedra. All K–La bond lengths are 3.86 Å. La is bonded to four equivalent K and eight equivalent La atoms to form LaK4La8 cuboctahedra that share corners with twelve equivalent LaK4La8 cuboctahedra, edges with eight equivalent KLa12 cuboctahedra, edges with sixteen equivalent LaK4La8 cuboctahedra, faces with four equivalent KLa12 cuboctahedra, and faces with fourteen equivalent LaK4La8 cuboctahedra. All La–La bond lengths are 3.86 Å.
