Title: Materials Data on AuC2 by Materials Project

Abstract

AuC2 crystallizes in the hexagonal P6/mmm space group. The structure is one-dimensional and consists of one AuC2 ribbon oriented in the (0, 0, 1) direction. Au1- is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent C+0.50+ atoms. Both Au–C bond lengths are 1.95 Å. C+0.50+ is bonded in a linear geometry to one Au1- and one C+0.50+ atom. The C–C bond length is 1.27 Å.
