Title: Materials Data on U by Materials Project

Abstract

U crystallizes in the orthorhombic Pmma space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are five inequivalent U sites. In the first U site, U is bonded to eight U atoms to form a mixture of distorted edge and corner-sharing UU8 hexagonal bipyramids. There are a spread of U–U bond distances ranging from 2.53–3.34 Å. In the second U site, U is bonded to eight U atoms to form a mixture of distorted edge and corner-sharing UU8 hexagonal bipyramids. There are a spread of U–U bond distances ranging from 2.56–3.31 Å. In the third U site, U is bonded to eight U atoms to form a mixture of distorted edge and corner-sharing UU8 hexagonal bipyramids. There are a spread of U–U bond distances ranging from 2.55–3.32 Å. In the fourth U site, U is bonded to eight U atoms to form a mixture of edge and corner-sharing UU8 hexagonal bipyramids. There are a spread of U–U bond distances ranging from 2.61–3.25 Å. In the fifth U site, U is bonded to eight U atoms to form a mixture of edge and corner-sharing UU8 hexagonal bipyramids. There are a spread of U–U bond distances ranging from 2.62–3.25 Å.
