Materials Data on LaZn2Ni3 by Materials Project
Abstract
LaNi3Zn2 crystallizes in the hexagonal P6/mmm space group. The structure is three-dimensional. La is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to twelve equivalent Ni and six equivalent Zn atoms. All La–Ni bond lengths are 3.27 Å. All La–Zn bond lengths are 3.03 Å. Ni is bonded to four equivalent La and four equivalent Zn atoms to form a mixture of distorted face, edge, and corner-sharing NiLa4Zn4 cuboctahedra. All Ni–Zn bond lengths are 2.47 Å. Zn is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to three equivalent La and six equivalent Ni atoms.
