Title: Materials Data on Gd12Co7 by Materials Project

Abstract

Gd12Co7 crystallizes in the monoclinic P2_1/c space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are six inequivalent Gd sites. In the first Gd site, Gd is bonded in a 5-coordinate geometry to five Co atoms. There are a spread of Gd–Co bond distances ranging from 2.95–3.10 Å. In the second Gd site, Gd is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to four Co atoms. There are a spread of Gd–Co bond distances ranging from 2.80–2.95 Å. In the third Gd site, Gd is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to four Co atoms. There are a spread of Gd–Co bond distances ranging from 2.84–3.10 Å. In the fourth Gd site, Gd is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to four Co atoms. There are a spread of Gd–Co bond distances ranging from 2.83–3.06 Å. In the fifth Gd site, Gd is bonded to four Co atoms to form distorted corner-sharing GdCo4 tetrahedra. There are a spread of Gd–Co bond distances ranging from 2.69–3.01 Å. In the sixth Gd site, Gd is bonded in a 5-coordinate geometry to five Co atoms. There are a spread of Gd–Co bond distances ranging from 2.78–3.08 Å. There are four inequivalent Co sites. In the first Co site, Comore » is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to seven Gd and one Co atom. The Co–Co bond length is 2.33 Å. In the second Co site, Co is bonded in a body-centered cubic geometry to eight Gd atoms. In the third Co site, Co is bonded in a 1-coordinate geometry to seven Gd and one Co atom. In the fourth Co site, Co is bonded in a 8-coordinate geometry to eight Gd atoms.« less
