Title: Materials Data on ZnTe2 by Materials Project

Abstract

ZnTe2 is Calaverite structured and crystallizes in the trigonal P-3m1 space group. The structure is two-dimensional and consists of one ZnTe2 sheet oriented in the (0, 0, 1) direction. Zn2+ is bonded to six equivalent Te1- atoms to form edge-sharing ZnTe6 octahedra. All Zn–Te bond lengths are 2.83 Å. Te1- is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to three equivalent Zn2+ atoms.
