Title: Materials Data on GdSI by Materials Project

Abstract

GdSI crystallizes in the hexagonal P-6 space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Gd3+ is bonded in a 2-coordinate geometry to two equivalent S2- and four equivalent I1- atoms. Both Gd–S bond lengths are 2.54 Å. There are two shorter (3.36 Å) and two longer (3.37 Å) Gd–I bond lengths. S2- is bonded in a bent 150 degrees geometry to two equivalent Gd3+ atoms. I1- is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Gd3+ atoms.
