Materials Data on Sc by Materials Project
Abstract
Sc crystallizes in the monoclinic C2/c space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are two inequivalent Sc sites. In the first Sc site, Sc is bonded in a 11-coordinate geometry to eleven Sc atoms. There are a spread of Sc–Sc bond distances ranging from 2.90–3.39 Å. In the second Sc site, Sc is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to fourteen Sc atoms. Both Sc–Sc bond lengths are 3.20 Å.
