Materials Data on Pu3Ta by Materials Project
Abstract
Pu3Ta is Uranium Silicide structured and crystallizes in the cubic Pm-3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Pu is bonded to eight equivalent Pu and four equivalent Ta atoms to form PuPu8Ta4 cuboctahedra that share corners with twelve equivalent PuPu8Ta4 cuboctahedra, edges with eight equivalent TaPu12 cuboctahedra, edges with sixteen equivalent PuPu8Ta4 cuboctahedra, faces with four equivalent TaPu12 cuboctahedra, and faces with fourteen equivalent PuPu8Ta4 cuboctahedra. All Pu–Pu bond lengths are 2.97 Å. All Pu–Ta bond lengths are 2.97 Å. Ta is bonded to twelve equivalent Pu atoms to form TaPu12 cuboctahedra that share corners with twelve equivalent TaPu12 cuboctahedra, edges with twenty-four equivalent PuPu8Ta4 cuboctahedra, faces with six equivalent TaPu12 cuboctahedra, and faces with twelve equivalent PuPu8Ta4 cuboctahedra.
