Title: Materials Data on MgFePt2 by Materials Project

Abstract

MgFePt2 crystallizes in the orthorhombic Immm space group. The structure is one-dimensional and consists of two MgFePt2 ribbons oriented in the (1, 0, 0) direction. Mg2+ is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent Pt2- atoms. Both Mg–Pt bond lengths are 2.55 Å. Fe2+ is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent Pt2- atoms. Both Fe–Pt bond lengths are 2.25 Å. Pt2- is bonded in a linear geometry to one Mg2+ and one Fe2+ atom.
