Materials Data on GePClO2 by Materials Project
Abstract
GePO2Cl crystallizes in the orthorhombic Pnma space group. The structure is one-dimensional and consists of four GePO2Cl ribbons oriented in the (1, 0, 0) direction. Ge2+ is bonded in a 3-coordinate geometry to two equivalent O2- and one Cl1- atom. Both Ge–O bond lengths are 2.01 Å. The Ge–Cl bond length is 2.34 Å. P3+ is bonded in a water-like geometry to two equivalent O2- atoms. Both P–O bond lengths are 1.54 Å. O2- is bonded in a bent 150 degrees geometry to one Ge2+ and one P3+ atom. Cl1- is bonded in a single-bond geometry to one Ge2+ atom.
