Abstract
GdLa4Sc15(BO3)20 is Calcite-derived structured and crystallizes in the monoclinic C2 space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Gd is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to six O atoms. All Gd–O bond lengths are 2.43 Å. There are two inequivalent La sites. In the first La site, La is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to six O atoms. There are a spread of La–O bond distances ranging from 2.48–2.50 Å. In the second La site, La is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to six O atoms. There are four shorter (2.48 Å) and two longer (2.49 Å) La–O bond lengths. There are seven inequivalent Sc sites. In the first Sc site, Sc is bonded to six O atoms to form edge-sharing ScO6 octahedra. There are a spread of Sc–O bond distances ranging from 2.08–2.15 Å. In the second Sc site, Sc is bonded to six O atoms to form edge-sharing ScO6 octahedra. There are a spread of Sc–O bond distances ranging from 2.08–2.15 Å. In the third Sc site, Sc is bonded to six O atoms to form edge-sharing ScO6 octahedra. There are a spread of Sc–O bond distances ranging from 2.11–2.15 Å. In the fourth Sc site, Sc is bonded tomore »
