Materials Data on Nd3Cl by Materials Project
Abstract
Nd3Cl crystallizes in the hexagonal P6_3/mmc space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Nd is bonded in a 2-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Cl atoms. There are two shorter (3.31 Å) and two longer (3.64 Å) Nd–Cl bond lengths. Cl is bonded to twelve equivalent Nd atoms to form a mixture of corner and face-sharing ClNd12 cuboctahedra.
