Materials Data on Eu2N by Materials Project
Abstract
Eu2N is zeta iron carbide-like structured and crystallizes in the tetragonal P4_2/mnm space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Eu is bonded in a distorted T-shaped geometry to three equivalent N atoms. There are two shorter (2.49 Å) and one longer (2.75 Å) Eu–N bond lengths. N is bonded to six equivalent Eu atoms to form a mixture of edge and corner-sharing NEu6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedral tilt angles are 46°.
