Materials Data on Ce7Pt3 by Materials Project
Abstract
Ce7Pt3 crystallizes in the orthorhombic Cmc2_1 space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are five inequivalent Ce sites. In the first Ce site, Ce is bonded in a 3-coordinate geometry to three Pt atoms. All Ce–Pt bond lengths are 3.00 Å. In the second Ce site, Ce is bonded in a 3-coordinate geometry to four Pt atoms. There are a spread of Ce–Pt bond distances ranging from 2.90–3.53 Å. In the third Ce site, Ce is bonded in a 3-coordinate geometry to four Pt atoms. There are a spread of Ce–Pt bond distances ranging from 2.90–3.54 Å. In the fourth Ce site, Ce is bonded in a 2-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Pt atoms. There are two shorter (2.89 Å) and two longer (3.45 Å) Ce–Pt bond lengths. In the fifth Ce site, Ce is bonded in a 2-coordinate geometry to four Pt atoms. There are a spread of Ce–Pt bond distances ranging from 2.90–3.46 Å. There are two inequivalent Pt sites. In the first Pt site, Pt is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to nine Ce atoms. In the second Pt site, Pt is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to nine Ce atoms.
